From the Designation of Human Types, chapter 4
What sort of person is a better man than a good man?
Here a certain person, while he himself refrains from the destruction of life, incites others to refrain, himself refrains from taking things not given, incites others to refrain, himself refrains from misbehaviour in sensual pleasures, incites others to refrain, himself refrains from indulging in the enjoyment of spirituous, fermented liquors and intoxicants, incites others to refrain. Such is the person who is said to be a better man than a good man.
